Privacy Policy

Yubi ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by bbnobunny. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the Yubi iOS app and how we use it.

1. Data We Collect

• Pair code - a short code you choose to connect with your partner.
• Display name - the name you enter in the app.
• Activity & emotion status - what you share with your partner (e.g. "sleeping", "working").
• Nudge messages - short messages you send to your partner.
• FCM token - a device token used solely to deliver push notifications to your partner.
• Anonymous user ID - a randomly generated ID created by Firebase Authentication. It is never linked to your name or email.
• Timezone - used to display your local time to your partner.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or any payment information.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To sync your status and nudges with your connected partner in real time.
• To send push notifications when your partner nudges you.
• To restore your pair code after a reinstall via iCloud Keychain (stored locally on your device only).

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored in Google Firebase Realtime Database, hosted in the United States. Data is protected by Firebase Security Rules that restrict access so only you and your connected partner can read each other's data.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties except Google Firebase, which is used solely to operate the app's backend.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

You can permanently delete all your data at any time from within the app: Settings → Delete Account. This removes your data from Firebase immediately.

7. Children's Privacy

Yubi is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
